Senior Placement Officer

Role Summary

The Senior Placement Officer is responsible for enhancing student career prospects through effective management of employability, internships, career readiness, and placement activities across multiple academic disciplines.

Discipline-Specific Responsibilities

• Mechanical Engineering: Establish connections with industries in manufacturing, automotive, robotics, and sustainable energy sectors.
• Civil Engineering: Develop relationships with companies involved in construction, infrastructure, urban planning, smart cities, and sustainability.
• Bio Engineering & Biosciences: Engage with biotechnology, pharmaceutical companies, research laboratories, medical device manufacturers, and healthcare providers.
• Agriculture: Collaborate with organizations in agri-tech, food processing, sustainability initiatives, and rural development.
• Chemical Engineering & Physical Sciences: Network with sectors including chemicals, materials, petrochemicals, nanotechnology, and energy.
• Architecture & Design: Liaise with architecture firms, urban planners, and sustainable design consultancies.
• Multimedia Design: Build partnerships with advertising, gaming, animation, UX/UI, and creative agencies.
• Film, Theatre & Music: Connect with media firms, OTT platforms, production studios, and cultural groups.
• Social Sciences & Languages: Cultivate links with NGOs, policy think tanks, international agencies, and educational publishers.
• Physical Education: Develop relationships with sports federations, fitness, wellness companies, and academic bodies.
• Law: Collaborate with corporate law firms, litigation practices, legal technology companies, judiciary training, and policy organizations.

Primary Duties

• Forge and maintain robust partnerships with corporates, research & development entities, creative industries, NGOs, law firms, startups, and recruiters globally.
• Establish long-term collaborations including MoUs and industry-academia platforms.
• Organize comprehensive pre-placement activities such as technical and soft skills training, mock interviews, and panel discussions.
• Advise and support students on career options including jobs, entrepreneurship, advanced education, and fellowships.
• Manage and update placement data, and produce annual placement reports.
• Implement data-driven monitoring systems to evaluate placement outcomes.
• Represent the university at national and international career fairs and industry events.
• Promote institutional talent through strategic digital and print branding efforts.

Qualifications and Experience

• Postgraduate degree in Management, Engineering, Education, Law, or related disciplines.
• A proven track record of 10 to 15 years in placements, corporate relations, career services, or similar roles.
• Strong capability to network across technical and creative sectors.
• Exceptional leadership qualities alongside excellent communication and people management skills.
