Overview

This role supports the provision and upkeep of facilities that serve Church members by offering spaces for work, worship, education, prayer, covenant making, and ordinance receiving. The Senior Facilities Manager supervises maintenance and operations across multiple Church properties ensuring they meet intended use and standards while managing a technical team and coordinating with stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and supervise a team of technicians, including scheduling tasks, organizing work orders, conducting annual performance evaluations, managing expenditures, onboarding, and overseeing leave requests.
  • Execute strategic goals set by leadership and maintain team alignment with these objectives.
  • Oversee all maintenance activities for assigned Facilities Management groups, including preventive and corrective programs, performing semi-annual property assessments, and developing detailed annual and long-term maintenance plans.

  • Support emergency maintenance requests and maintain accountability for KPIs related to timeliness, cost control, quality, and individual performance.

  • Manage budgets and collaborate with Operations and Vendor Management teams to optimize task completion and resource allocation, recommending vendor changes when service is inadequate.
  • Maintain emergency on-call availability and coordinate with the Emergency Call Center for urgent maintenance requests.
  • Ensure compliance with local, regional, and federal regulations, including health and safety standards; promote safety and emergency preparedness programs.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with local leaders and departmental staff; respond promptly to facility-related requests and collaborate to assess facility needs.
  • Partner with third-party administrators to ensure service provider work order completion and performance standards are met.
  • Participate in weekly Facilities Management group meetings devoted to work order review, prioritization, and project scheduling.
  • Facilitate and engage in training and continuous improvement initiatives within the maintenance team, supporting regional and headquarters training programs.
  • Perform any additional duties assigned by supervisors.

Candidate Qualifications

  • Must be worthy to hold a current temple recommend.
  • Possess a bachelor's degree in facilities management, construction management, business, or a related discipline, or hold equivalent education combined with experience.
  • Have at least six years of industry experience in facilities management, including a minimum of two years in a facility, property, or operations management role, with at least two years in a leadership capacity.
  • Hold or obtain within one year an FMP (Facility Management Professional) certification.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of facility and property management, construction procedures, business operations, safety protocols, and fire regulations.
  • Exhibit proven frontline management experience in multidisciplinary environments and capability to manage complex situations effectively.
  • Possess excellent communication skills to interact professionally with employees, Church leaders, contractors, vendors, and service providers.
  • Be proficient with computer and communication technologies, including CMMS systems, Microsoft Office, specialized departmental software, web-based tools, and mobile devices.
  • Have a thorough understanding of the Meetinghouse Facilities Department's systems, procedures, and programs, with ability to instruct others and ensure cross-departmental collaboration.
