Senior Information Technology Business Analyst

Overview

We are recruiting a skilled Senior IT Business Analyst to collaborate with our banking client in Doha, Qatar. The successful candidate will act as a key liaison between business teams and IT, responsible for requirements gathering, functional documentation, and facilitating solution delivery to ensure projects meet objectives.

Key Responsibilities

• Collect, analyze, validate, and document detailed business requirements.
• Conduct workshops with stakeholders and lead requirement elicitation sessions.
• Translate business needs into comprehensive functional and technical specifications.
• Develop business requirements documents (BRD), functional requirement documents (FRD), software requirement specifications (SRS), user stories, acceptance criteria, process flows, and other functional documentation.
• Analyze current business processes to identify enhancement opportunities.
• Collaborate closely with business users, project managers, development teams, and external vendors throughout project phases.
• Support solution design efforts to ensure business requirements are correctly implemented.

Additionally, this role encompasses quality assurance and technical coordination responsibilities:

• Assist with application configuration and technical implementation efforts.
• Coordinate System Integration Testing (SIT) and User Acceptance Testing (UAT) activities.
• Prepare test strategies, detailed test plans, test cases, and maintain requirement traceability matrices (RTM).
• Manage defect tracking, regression testing, handling change requests, and ensuring readiness for release.
• Perform impact and root cause analysis for issues reported in production environments.
• Ensure all activities comply with Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) standards, documentation policies, and quality assurance processes.

Documentation & Reporting

• Produce and maintain all necessary project documentation including BRD, FRD, SRS, functional requirement specifications (FRS), user stories, acceptance criteria, standard operating procedures (SOPs), user manuals, release notes, knowledge base articles, and process documentation.
• Prepare executive reports such as dashboards, meeting minutes, RAID logs, and project status updates.

Required Skills and Experience

• Robust experience in business analysis and requirement elicitation, particularly within the banking or financial services sectors.
• Expertise in stakeholder management and experience working in multicultural environments.
• Proficiency with SDLC and Agile methodologies.
• Skilled in business process mapping tools, especially Microsoft Visio.
• Advanced capabilities in creating functional documentation, user stories, acceptance criteria, and requirement traceability matrices.
• Strong knowledge of coordinating SIT and UAT testing phases, including test planning and defect management.
• Experience with release and change management processes.
• Technical skills including SQL (SQL Server, Oracle, or Sybase), APIs, web applications, and web services.
• Familiarity with HTML, JavaScript, and jQuery; exposure to Java, .NET (C#), Python, React, or C++ is advantageous.
• Competence with Microsoft Office Suite.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology or related fields.
• Minimum five years of IT experience, including 2–4 years in application development, configuration, or technical implementation.
• At least seven years overall experience as an IT Business Analyst, preferably with banking or financial services exposure.
