Role Overview

The Senior Financial Analyst will spearhead forecasting and detailed financial analysis activities, supporting initiatives that enhance business performance and align with strategic goals. This role involves wide collaboration across departments including Marketing, Sales, Supply Chain, Finance Analytics & Solutions, and Corporate Finance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and assess financial reports to aid business decisions, focusing on P&L understanding, variance, and mix analysis including thorough investigations of significant forecast deviations.
  • Engage in comprehensive business planning processes such as forecasting, Annual Integrated Commercial Planning (ICP), strategic long-term planning, and month-end closing activities.
  • Collaborate with Marketing teams to oversee budgets and evaluate marketing spending through pre- and post-campaign analyses.
  • Execute financial feasibility studies (NPV, ROI, contribution margin) to evaluate risks and opportunities related to business moves, including new product launches, pricing, marketing investments, promotions, and product updates.
  • Review and enhance current financial processes and reporting methods, recommending improvements when necessary.
  • Deliver ad hoc financial analyses and support special initiatives as required.
  • Maintain the accuracy of financial data with adherence to corporate policies and internal controls.
  • Lead continuous improvement efforts aimed at boosting profitability in partnership with Strategic Revenue Management and other cross-functional teams.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration or a closely related discipline.
  • A minimum of 3 years professional experience in Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) or similar finance roles such as Corporate Planning, Sales Finance, Operations Finance, or Category Finance.
  • Proficiency in financial analysis including expertise in forecasting, budgeting, variance interpretation, and P&L oversight.
  • Strong communication skills paired with effective stakeholder management and the ability to translate financial data into actionable business strategies.
  • Analytical mindset with capability to prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Additional Skills

  • Professional accounting credentials such as CPA, CA, CGA, or CMA and/or an MBA degree.
  • Experience using Power BI and business intelligence tools.
  • Knowledge in product standard costing and commercial finance analysis.

Additional Information

Compensation for this role ranges from $71,600 to $90,000 CAD annually plus bonus eligibility. Nestlé Canada places a strong emphasis on transparent and equitable pay practices.
