Senior Estimation & Tendering Manager

Role Overview

The position of Senior Estimation & Tendering Manager involves directing the entire bidding and cost estimation process for EPC projects to deliver accurate, competitive, and commercially viable proposals. This role covers managing bid evaluation, cost calculations, risk analysis, commercial examination, proposal formulation, and overseeing project transition.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee and steer all estimation and tendering operations associated with major EPC contracts.
• Examine tender documentation, drawings, specifications, BOQs, and contract terms to define project scope and requirements.
• Perform bid/no-bid analyses, recognize risks in projects, and suggest effective tendering strategies.
• Supervise preparation and validation of detailed cost estimates incorporating materials, labor, equipment, subcontractors, and overheads.
• Ensure all submissions align with client requirements, contractual obligations, and internal protocols.
• Collaborate closely with Engineering, Procurement, Commercial, Planning, and Finance departments throughout bid preparation.
• Assess quotations received from suppliers and subcontractors ensuring price competitiveness.
• Compile commercial and technical tender documents and secure management approval prior to submission.
• Lead discussions and negotiations with clients regarding tender clarifications as needed.
• Offer commercial and contractual assistance throughout project award phases and ensure smooth information transfer to Project Management teams.
• Maintain and enhance estimating data repositories, cost benchmarks, and estimation methodologies for better accuracy and efficiency.
• Guide, mentor, and grow the Estimation and Quantity Surveying teams under your leadership.

Knowledge and Skills

• Comprehensive expertise in estimation methodologies, cost analysis, quantity take-offs, and budgeting techniques.
• In-depth experience with EPC tender processes, commercial assessments, and contract examinations.
• Strong familiarity with FIDIC and EPC contract frameworks.
• Well-versed in domains including Energy, Oil & Gas, LNG, Petrochemical, Power, and Utility projects.
• Exceptional leadership, analytical reasoning, negotiation prowess, and communication abilities.
• Proficiency in CCS (Candy), SAP ERP, Microsoft Office suite, and various estimating software tools.

Educational & Professional Credentials

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Civil, Electrical, or Chemical Engineering.
• Additional certifications in Cost Engineering or Project Management constitute an advantage.

Experience Requirements

• A minimum of 15 years working in estimation and tendering for large-scale EPC projects.
• At least 5 years holding managerial or leadership responsibilities.
• Prior involvement in Energy, Utilities, Oil & Gas, LNG, Petrochemical, or Power industry projects.
• Experience within the GCC region is preferred.
