About the Role
A prominent leader in the Real Estate and Construction sector is looking to onboard a seasoned Senior Estimation Engineer for their Riyadh-based team. This role demands extensive expertise in preparing comprehensive cost estimates to support large-scale building projects.
Main Responsibilities
- Develop precise and competitive cost estimates for major construction undertakings.
- Examine tender documentation, architectural drawings, Bills of Quantities (BOQs), and specifications to determine project scope and identify commercial risks.
- Perform detailed quantity take-offs and compile thorough cost estimates.
- Solicit and assess bids from suppliers and subcontractors.
- Formulate project budgets and cost frameworks across multiple design phases.
- Implement value engineering methods aimed at reducing expenses without affecting quality standards.
- Collaborate with design, planning, procurement, and technical departments during tender preparation and submission.
- Assist in project handover by verifying the accuracy of commercial paperwork and cost evaluations.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- Possession of a Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or a related field.
- At least 12 years of hands-on experience in construction cost estimation.
- Proven track record with high-rise, residential, commercial, and mixed-use development projects.
- Comprehensive understanding of Saudi Arabia and GCC market pricing, including BOQs, tender procedures, and quantity assessments.
- Familiarity with FIDIC contractual frameworks, Saudi Building Code, and applicable local regulations.
- Membership in the Saudi Council of Engineers (SCE).
- In-depth knowledge of local suppliers, subcontractors, construction material costs, and procurement standards specific to the Saudi market.
- Expertise in various contract types such as lump sum, unit rate, and cost-plus agreements alongside FIDIC contract conditions.
