About the Firm
Our client is a distinguished Top 100 UK law firm known for providing high-quality, commercially-focused legal advice to a broad client base. Due to ongoing growth, they are expanding their Property Litigation team based in Oxford.
Role Overview
The successful candidate will lead and manage a diverse range of property litigation cases including landlord and tenant disagreements, boundary and title conflicts, adverse possession claims, restrictive covenants, easements, lease renewals, dilapidations, rights of light issues, co-ownership and TOLATA disputes, and service charge controversies. The role involves handling all aspects of litigation from alternative dispute resolutions—such as mediation and settlement negotiations—to court proceedings and advocacy.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a varied caseload encompassing residential and commercial property litigation issues.
- Conduct landlord & tenant disputes, boundary and title disputes, and adverse possession cases.
- Handle restrictive covenants, easements, residential possession proceedings, lease renewals, and dilapidations matters.
- Oversee leasehold and freehold disputes, rights of light cases, co-ownership and TOLATA issues.
- Navigate management company and service charge disputes.
- Engage in alternative dispute resolution methods including mediation and settlement discussions.
- Lead court proceedings and deliver effective advocacy.
- Support departmental growth by mentoring junior solicitors and contributing to business development.
- Foster strong client relationships and professional networks.
Candidate Profile
- Qualified Solicitor with over 5 years post-qualification experience in Property Litigation.
- Track record of independently managing a complex and broad litigation caseload.
- Deep technical expertise in both residential and commercial property disputes.
- Excellent skills in drafting, negotiation, and court advocacy.
- Comprehensive knowledge of civil procedure and litigation strategies.
- Strong client care orientation and ability to develop lasting client relationships.
- Commercially aware with a practical mindset toward dispute resolution.
- Experience in supervising and mentoring junior lawyers.
- Ambitious and motivated to contribute to the success and expansion of the team.
