Security Officer

Job Location and Shift Details

This role is based at The Rock, Bury, England. The working days are Wednesday through Saturday with shifts from 10:30 AM to 6:00 PM, totaling 30 hours weekly. The pay rate offered is £13.60 per hour.

Role Overview

The Security Officer will be the primary representative of the security team, maintaining a professional and proactive stance. The position requires delivering outstanding security standards alongside excellent customer service to both clients and visitors.

Main Responsibilities

• Engage readily with visitors and tenants in the shopping centre, delivering exceptional customer service.
• Perform regular patrols of the premises as per site instructions, adopting a proactive approach.
• Seek opportunities to assist visitors, providing help whenever possible.
• Ensure the site environment remains safe and non-threatening for everyone.
• Manage incidents following established site procedures and policies.
• Coordinate effectively with the site's control room, reacting promptly to incidents and ensuring team briefings and support.
• Report any unsecured areas immediately and ensure resolutions.
• Document all irregularities and emergencies with control room personnel.
• Handle emergencies efficiently, keeping the centre team well-informed.
• Monitor human behavior attentively to identify and log suspicious individuals in compliance with policies.
• Prevent unauthorized access by banned persons.
• Adhere strictly to radio communication protocols.
• Maintain accurate incident records in the Security Officer notebook as per policy.
• Perform any additional reasonable duties to support business needs, including those assigned by the line manager.
• Respond promptly to security issues and events.
• Complete all required training as directed.
• Be willing to cover at least one extra shift monthly to support absences or leave.

Documentation Required

• Must hold a valid Security Industry Authority (SIA) licence.
• Possess a background check covering the last five years.
• Provide proof of eligibility to work in the UK.
