Position Overview

The Security Architect will be a pivotal contributor to fortifying Judo’s cybersecurity posture amidst ongoing technological growth. Reporting directly to the Chief Information Security Officer, this role collaborates with teams across Technology, Data, and Operations to embed security throughout system design, construction, and operations. The Security Architect provides practical security guidance balancing risk and innovation, partnering with engineers, architects, technology leaders, and risk teams to safeguard the bank, its customers, and employees.

Key Responsibilities

  • Establish and sustain enterprise-wide security architecture standards, patterns, and principles.
  • Offer security design recommendations and assurance for new technology projects and platform changes.
  • Collaborate with solution architects and engineers to integrate security into the software development life cycle.
  • Conduct reviews of architecture and design to detect security risks and propose effective mitigation.
  • Support cloud security architecture, particularly within AWS and other cloud-native environments.
  • Contribute to security roadmaps and initiatives enhancing Judo's cyber resilience.
  • Assess emerging technologies, threats, and industry trends to guide security decision-making.
  • Work alongside risk, compliance, and audit teams to ensure security controls meet regulatory requirements.
  • Promote an organisation-wide culture of security awareness and secure-by-design principles.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor balancing business goals with robust risk management.

Required Qualifications and Skills

  • Extensive experience in Security Architecture, Cyber Security Engineering, or equivalent security leadership roles.
  • Deep knowledge of security frameworks, architectural principles, and risk management methodologies.
  • Proven ability securing cloud platforms, especially AWS-based environments.
  • Expertise in modern application security, identity and access management, data protection, and infrastructure security.
  • Experience delivering security assurance across complex IT ecosystems.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills for both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Practical, risk-conscious approach that supports business needs without compromising security.
  • Demonstrated curiosity, adaptability, and dedication to ongoing professional growth.
  • Collaborative and relationship-focused style aligning with Judo's culture and values.
