Role Overview

As a Sandwich Maker within the Culinary team, you will prepare a diverse range of sandwiches and specialty items for the bagged lunch program. This role involves working day and night shifts and collaborating with culinary leadership to ensure aesthetically appealing, high-quality products daily. The position is based at a remote project site in Moosonee, Ontario, offering a camp lifestyle with full amenities.

Key Responsibilities

• Craft sandwiches and specialty items (e.g., egg salad, tuna) following established recipes and menus.
• Execute proper food rotation to minimize spoilage and waste.
• Oversee daily sandwich preparation setups.
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of workspaces, in line with regulatory and company hygiene standards, including floors, counters, shelves, appliances, and walls.
• Inspect cold food visually to ensure appealing presentation and color combination.
• Manage inventory levels to sustain adequate sandwich variety stock.

Candidate Requirements

• Experience in large-scale cooking environments such as camps, banquet halls, or hotels is highly advantageous.
• Preferable previous exposure to mass-production sandwich making roles.
• Food Safe certification is recommended.
• Willingness to commit to a 2-week on/2-week off rotational schedule.
• Strong team orientation, dedicated to client satisfaction.
• Possession of valid government-issued photo identification suitable for travel.
• Willingness and ability to undergo a criminal background check.
• Physical capability to lift, carry, push, or pull weights up to 50 lbs, climb ladders or stairs, and perform extended periods of standing, walking, squatting, kneeling, or sitting as required.
• Dexterity for repetitive hand movements with full use of both hands and ability to work with arms fully extended or above shoulder height.

Additional Information

• The job entails a 2-week on/2-week off rotation.
• Remote site accommodations include all meals, private room with cable TV, Wi-Fi access, laundry facilities with detergents, gym access, and communal spaces.
• Transportation to and from the site is provided from designated locations via air or shuttle.
• Workdays may include nights, weekends, holidays, and weekdays.
