Overview
Our client seeks a Sales Development Director to lead and oversee the global sales development function. This senior leadership role is pivotal in defining and implementing the vision and strategy for lead generation at scale, directly impacting the company's revenue pipeline and growth trajectory within a rapidly expanding SaaS organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute comprehensive sales development strategies to enhance lead generation and drive pipeline expansion.
- Ensure alignment of sales development initiatives with overarching sales and marketing goals.
- Lead, mentor, and cultivate a high-performing sales development team through coaching, training, and ongoing feedback.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with sales, marketing, and product departments to integrate strategies and messaging.
- Share market insights and customer feedback across teams to refine business offerings.
- Analyze performance data to monitor progress, optimize processes, and inform strategic decisions.
- Conduct industry research to remain informed on trends, competitors, and new market opportunities.
- Implement best practices and tools to streamline sales development operations and enhance communication.
- Prepare and deliver regular reports on lead generation metrics and pipeline health to senior leadership, offering recommendations for strategy adjustments.
Requirements and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
- More than 8 years of relevant experience in enterprise sales development, lead generation, or business development, including at least 4 years in a senior leadership/director role, ideally within the SaaS technology sector.
- Proven success in building and leading effective sales development teams that consistently exceed lead generation targets.
- Deep understanding of fast-paced Enterprise SaaS environments including high and low velocity sales processes.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills with strong motivational capabilities.
- Data-oriented with robust analytical skills to evaluate and enhance performance.
- Proficient with CRM platforms such as Salesforce or HubSpot and sales enablement tools like Salesloft.
- Strong leadership acumen combined with in-depth knowledge of the sales lifecycle and a passion for business growth initiatives.
- Enthusiastic about technology and innovation.
- Ability to think strategically and solve problems proactively in a dynamic environment.
- Capability to manage multiple priorities effectively amid a fast-paced work setting.
