About the Role

Veolia Water is seeking a Safety Supervisor to lead the safety performance at our QGC Water Treatment Assets. This role is key to enforcing our health, safety, and environmental standards, ensuring that all team members operate within safe practices and return home safely each day.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Oversee the application and ongoing enhancement of HSSE management systems across water treatment sites.
  • Coordinate and administer safety training sessions, employee inductions, and safety audits ensuring full alignment with legal and contract obligations.
  • Evaluate incidents, near misses, and hazards to establish effective corrective and preventive measures.
  • Manage workplace injury support systems and oversee return-to-work programs.
  • Provide expert advice on HSSE matters to management and maintain awareness of regulatory updates.
  • Offer supervisory support within operational, environmental, and maintenance teams as required.
  • Promote and uphold the Always Safe Charter values throughout the workplace environment.

Essential Qualifications and Skills

  • Formal certification in Occupational Health & Safety or extensive practical experience in a similar safety role.
  • In-depth understanding of Queensland's HSSE legislation and auditing methodologies.
  • Proven ability to implement and maintain safety management systems effectively.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills capable of influencing stakeholders at all organizational levels.
