Room Attendant

Overview

This full-time onsite position requires candidates to perform a variety of cleaning and maintenance duties in a hotel resort setting in Collingwood, Ontario. While no formal degree or diploma is required, proficiency in English is essential, and previous experience is considered an advantage. The work environment includes staff accommodation and involves physically demanding tasks in a fast-paced atmosphere.

Responsibilities

• Sweep, mop, wash, and polish floors to maintain cleanliness.
• Dust all types of furniture thoroughly.
• Use vacuum cleaners to clean carpeting, area rugs, draperies, and upholstered furniture.
• Prepare beds, replace sheets, and ensure linen is fresh and tidy.
• Distribute clean towels and toiletries to guestrooms.
• Keep linen closets well-stocked and organized.
• Sanitize and polish kitchen and bathroom fixtures and appliances.
• Disinfect operating rooms and other sensitive areas as required.
• Clean and disinfect elevators to uphold hygiene standards.
• Manage lost and found items by handling and reporting them appropriately.
• Respond promptly to guest requests for additional supplies or other needs.
• Provide guests with basic information about facilities.
• Remove debris and empty trash containers regularly.
• Wash windows, walls, and ceilings to maintain appearance.
• Clean showers and changing rooms thoroughly.
• Address and resolve customer complaints or concerns courteously.

Work Conditions and Physical Requirements

• The role demands working in a fast-paced environment often under tight deadlines.
• Repeated performance of monotonous tasks is common.
• Handling heavy loads and performing physically strenuous duties such as bending, crouching, and kneeling are required.
• The job involves a combination of sitting, standing, and walking, including extended periods of standing.
