Role Overview
Join the RAC team as a Roadside Technician in Bristol, helping keep vehicles moving with expert roadside mechanical repairs and diagnostics. This position requires a Level 2 Light Vehicle Maintenance qualification or equivalent, backed by at least two years of field experience. Successful candidates will be part of the local Bristol cluster, serving areas including the city centre and surrounding suburbs, with an emphasis on starting and finishing each day at home.
Compensation and Working Hours
- Competitive base salary set at a336,400 annually with on-target earnings (OTE) of a360,000 or more, allowing high performers to earn bonuses and elevated overtime pay.
- Demand-driven shifts typically averaging 40 hours per week, with additional overtime opportunities as desired.
Work Environment
You'll operate within a local team covering the Bristol area, enabling a focus on nearby member assistance while eliminating unnecessary commute times.
Key Qualifications
- NVQ Level 2 in Light Vehicle Maintenance or a recognized equivalent, supplemented by a minimum of two years' relevant experience;
- Alternatively, a minimum of five years working as a vehicle technician or mechanic;
- Full UK driving licence with fewer than six penalty points.
Role Responsibilities
As a valued member of the RAC Patrol division, your duties include providing expert mechanical roadside diagnostics, repairs, and emergency breakdown support across the UK. From flat batteries and tyre changes to complex fault-finding, you will ensure quick, reliable solutions alongside excellent customer service, with the aim of swiftly returning members to the road.
Tools and Support
The RAC equips you fully from the outset with your own vehicle, fuel card, uniform, tools, and diagnostic equipment to enable independent, effective work in the field.
