Role Overview
The Retail Operations Director is a senior leadership position tasked with supervising multiple store operations to enhance customer satisfaction, optimize staffing and inventory, and boost sales alongside operational consistency.
Primary Responsibilities
- Manage daily activities of several retail outlets ensuring streamlined processes and superior customer service quality.
- Formulate and execute strategic initiatives aimed at achieving sales objectives, minimizing expenses, and increasing profitability.
- Provide leadership and development for store managers to enhance team effectiveness and engagement.
- Utilize sales analytics, industry trends, and client feedback for operational enhancements.
- Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and financial health of retail locations or portfolios.
- Maintain inventory accuracy through vigilant control, stock replenishment, ordering, and shrinkage prevention.
- Implement and monitor adherence to operational policies and compliance standards.
- Partner with departments such as sales, marketing, finance, and HR to ensure alignment with corporate goals.
- Drive improvements in customer and employee experiences, visual merchandising, and operational workflows.
- Support recruitment, training, and performance management within retail teams.
Candidate Profile
- Minimum 15 years' experience in retail operations, including store and regional management roles.
- Comprehensive understanding of store operations, merchandise management, inventory control, and customer service excellence.
- Proven leadership in driving sales growth and operational efficiency.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication capabilities.
- Experience managing multi-location retail environments and omnichannel retail preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or equivalent advanced qualifications are a plus.
- Demonstrated skill in balancing company growth, cost containment, and high service standards.
- Familiarity with POS systems, workforce scheduling software, and retail analytics dashboards is advantageous.
