Role Overview
Join a children's home that positively transforms young lives. This position suits both those experienced as Residential or Youth Workers and individuals new to residential care aiming to develop their career.
Key Qualities Sought
- Applicants must be 22 years or older to comply with Ofsted regulations.
- Caring, compassionate individuals who can foster positive relationships.
- Possession of a valid manual driving license.
- Ability to stay composed in challenging circumstances.
Training and Qualification
No prior experience is necessary. New employees undergo an induction called Skills to Care involving two weeks class-based training and a week of shadowing shifts. Support is provided to attain a Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare within 12 months, promoting professional development.
Responsibilities
- Encourage children to enjoy their childhood and build self-esteem in a non-judgmental environment.
- Facilitate children’s appointments and activities, ensuring their health, wellbeing, and safeguarding.
- Support children requiring varying levels of supervision.
- Assist with domestic duties such as cleaning, cooking, and shopping.
- Manage timetables, maintain records, and complete reports.

- A starting annual salary of £27518 plus £50 for each sleep-in shift.
- 224 hours of holiday, increasing to 248 hours after four years of service.
