Key Job Responsibilities
- Respond promptly and professionally to inquiries from customers and sales team members, providing rental solutions and accurately processing contracts.
- Organize equipment delivery and pickup schedules by coordinating drivers and clearly communicating timelines.
- Work closely with the Service Department to manage equipment repairs, schedule maintenance, and monitor fleet availability.
- Maintain precise inventory records, performing daily reconciliation and reporting to support effective inventory control.
- Handle rental documentation including cycle billing, contract filing, open-order reporting, and equipment exchanges, efficiently using the Systematic Rental Management system.
- Collaborate with shop and yard personnel to understand equipment readiness and availability for rental purposes.
- Address and resolve customer issues in partnership with internal teams, ensuring high satisfaction levels.
- Adhere to established standard operating procedures to maintain consistency, compliance, and operational efficiency at the branch.
- Promote a safe and positive workplace by following safety policies and exemplifying The Cooper Difference.
Qualifications and Requirements
- At least 3 years of experience in customer service or construction-related industries; prior exposure to construction equipment rental is a strong advantage.
- Minimum education: High school diploma or equivalent; post-secondary coursework in business, administration, or logistics considered a plus.
- Familiarity with construction equipment, particularly pumps and generators, and rental fleet operations beneficial.
- Understanding of rental fleet management and industry standards is advantageous.
- Ability to manage detailed inventories of pumps and accessories accurately to ensure customers receive fully equipped rentals.
- Strong organizational abilities to handle multiple priorities and deadlines within a dynamic environment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact effectively with customers, drivers, technicians, and sales teams.
- Customer-centric approach with demonstrated capability to build and maintain strong relationships.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook); familiarity with Power BI or other reporting software is a plus.
- Experience or willingness to learn rental management software such as Systematics or similar platforms.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the capacity to identify issues and develop proactive solutions.
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in all tasks.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team setting.
- Flexible and adaptable to shifting priorities and urgent customer requirements.
