About the Role
The Regional Supply Planner plays a pivotal role in ensuring customer satisfaction by managing the availability of products across regional warehouses. This position involves owning the supply process end-to-end using SAP IBP (DRP), integrating demand forecasts, manufacturing output, and supply chain constraints to develop actionable and realistic plans. The role requires proactive decision-making, challenging existing forecasts, and handling trade-offs to maintain service levels, healthy stock, and commercial success.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the creation and ongoing adjustment of the regional supply plan in SAP IBP, aligning factory production, demand, and logistics constraints into a feasible plan.
- Ensure optimal product availability at regional warehouses to meet service targets while balancing stock levels and capital usage.
- Define and manage inventory policies, including safety stock parameters, for ongoing SKUs, new launches, and transitions.
- Oversee the entire purchase order cycle from generation to completion, ensuring accuracy and adherence to supply plans.
- Identify supply risks such as capacity issues, delays, or demand fluctuations early and provide solutions and follow-ups.
- Conduct weekly stock-at-risk assessments to minimize out-of-stock events and reduce excess or obsolete inventory.
- Coordinate with Demand Planning, Manufacturing, Sales, Customer Service, Logistics, and Finance teams to align priorities, resolve conflicts, and communicate supply status.
- Deliver clear, timely communication about product availability, risks, and mitigation strategies to prevent surprises.
- Utilize SAP IBP, Excel, and reporting tools to translate complex supply data into actionable business insights.
- Continuously seek improvements in supply planning accuracy, process simplification, and system/data utilization.
Candidate Profile
- Experienced in comprehensive supply planning or distribution requirements planning, preferably within global manufacturing or FMCG sectors.
- Skilled at managing supply across multiple warehouses or regions, balancing service, cost, and inventory trade-offs.
- Strong understanding of the interplay between supply, demand, and manufacturing processes and the ability to question inconsistencies.
- Proficient with SAP IBP or similar planning platforms and advanced Excel capabilities to develop and modify supply plans.
- Adept at cross-functional collaboration influencing different teams without formal authority.
- Self-driven with a proactive approach to ownership, decision-making under uncertainty, and accountability for outcomes.
- Capable of operating in a dynamic environment with shifting priorities and complex trade-offs.
Success Factors
- Deep knowledge of end-to-end supply chain integration and realistic plan development.
- Excel at converting SAP IBP and Excel data into precise, quick decisions.
- Comfortable making independent trade-off decisions and standing behind results.
- Proactively manages supply risks and inventory balances to optimize performance.
- Effectively aligns multiple functions around actionable supply strategies.
- Strong communication skills providing transparent and timely updates on supply matters.
- Focused on measurable outcomes including service levels, inventory health, and risk mitigation with continuous improvement focus.
