Role Overview
We are looking for a meticulous Quantity Surveyor to oversee the financial and contractual management of landscaping projects from tender stage through to the final account settlement. The ideal candidate will handle cost estimation, quantity take-offs, budget monitoring, contract administration, valuation of completed works, and cost reporting to ensure projects meet timelines, budget constraints, quality standards, and contractual specifications.
Primary Responsibilities
- Generate quantity take-offs based on project drawings, specifications, and related documentation.
- Develop reliable cost estimates, Bills of Quantities (BOQs), and prepare tender submissions specific to landscaping developments.
- Create and manage project budgets; continuously track expenditures over the project duration.
- Assess subcontractor and supplier quotes to ensure competitiveness and alignment with project criteria.
- Prepare interim evaluations, payment requests, and verify invoices from contractors and suppliers.
- Carry out on-site measurements of completed work to confirm quantities for progress claims and final accounting.
- Compile, negotiate, and close out project accounts efficiently.
- Track project cash flow, forecast costs, and monitor overall commercial performance.
- Maintain detailed records of measurements, contracts, variations, claims, and supporting documentation.
- Collaborate closely with Project Managers, Engineers, Procurement, and Finance departments to facilitate smooth project delivery.
- Manage variations, change requests, and contractual claims compliantly with project contract terms.
- Ensure all contract conditions, corporate policies, and UAE regulations are consistently observed.
- Support procurement processes for materials, suppliers, and subcontract packages when necessary.
- Identify opportunities to reduce costs without compromising quality, safety, or project standards.
- Regularly prepare commercial and cost reports for managerial review.
Qualifications and Experience
- A Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related fields.
- At least 3 to 7 years of experience in quantity surveying, ideally in landscaping, irrigation, infrastructure, or civil construction within the UAE.
- Sound knowledge of FIDIC contracts, contract administration, and construction industry practices in the UAE.
- Experience in landscaping projects with softscape, hardscape, irrigation systems, water features, and other external works is highly desirable.
- Possession of a UAE driving license is considered an advantage.
Skills and Competencies
- Solid understanding of quantity surveying methods, cost control, and construction contract management.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Microsoft Excel, and standard MS Office software.
- Strong analytical, numerical, and problem-solving skills.
- Commercially aware with expertise in cost monitoring and control.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and stakeholder engagement capabilities.
- Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and meet strict deadlines in a dynamic work environment.

- Capability to operate independently as well as collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams.
