Job description

Position Summary

The Quality Control (QC) Engineer plays a vital role in inspecting and testing electronic products, specifically PCBA, to ensure adherence to quality standards. This position involves thorough documentation of defects and verification that corrective actions are effectively implemented to enhance the manufacturing process. Collaboration with production teams, engineers, and various departments is essential to uphold quality compliance and foster continuous advancements.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Perform systematic inspections and tests on PCBA to affirm compliance with quality criteria and product specifications.
  • Detect and meticulously record defects or discrepancies in manufactured products and processes.
  • Confirm that corrective measures addressing identified faults are executed properly to avoid recurrence.
  • Engage actively in KAIZEN and other continuous improvement projects aimed at optimizing manufacturing efficiency and product quality.
  • Provide coaching and support to production personnel regarding quality protocols and standards.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of all inspections, tests, and corrective steps taken.
  • Generate detailed reports highlighting quality challenges and improvements for managerial review.
  • Lead or contribute to investigations of quality concerns by coordinating with cross-functional teams including Product Development, Industrial Engineering, Supplier Quality Engineering, and Manufacturing Engineering to determine root causes and implement preventive actions.
  • Conduct Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (PFMEA) to assess potential quality risks and establish corresponding controls.
  • Regularly update QC inspection checklists reflecting product modifications, process changes, and customer requirements.
  • Manage inspection system feedback by reviewing, approving, and ensuring preparedness for audits.
  • Collaborate within QA teams to support overall quality objectives in a cooperative environment.

Candidate Qualifications

  • Familiarity with fundamental quality tools such as Pareto charts, histograms, and check sheets.
  • Knowledge of the electronics industry, with an openness to learn electronic assembly and inspection procedures.
  • Good manual dexterity and keen visual acuity essential for recognizing workmanship defects.
  • Dependable, team-oriented individual capable of working effectively in a manufacturing setting.
  • Willingness to pursue ongoing training and improvement under supervision.

Working Environment & Conditions

  • Work involves a blend of office tasks and frequent presence on the production floor.
  • Extended periods of standing and walking during inspection duties are expected.
  • Occasional lifting of materials weighing up to 25 pounds.
  • Exposure to typical manufacturing noise and machinery with personal protective equipment provided.
