The Role

NS90 is seeking a QA Engineer to join a Scrum team, collaborating with Scrum Masters, Product Owners, Software Engineers, and other QA professionals. The role involves assisting with quick and reliable feature delivery through involvement in test planning, manual testing, defect analysis, and automation of tests using Python and Robot Framework. The position helps develop a wide range of testing skills and involves both manual and automated testing activities. Prior automation expertise is advantageous but not a prerequisite for qualified candidates.

Responsibilities

• Examine requirements to determine test scenarios, associated risks, and points needing clarification.
• Create and update precise and effective test cases.
• Perform manual testing for web applications, REST APIs, and new functionality.
• Develop and maintain functional and regression testing suites.
• Utilize tools like Postman to test REST APIs.
• Interpret test results and investigate any unexpected behaviors.
• Document testing procedures, report, track, and verify defects.
• Contribute to UI and API test automation employing Python and Robot Framework.
• Clearly communicate testing status, risks, and quality issues to the team.
• Manage priorities and set expectations while handling multiple tasks.
• Actively participate in Scrum meetings and support the Agile development process.
• Support enhancements to the team's testing methodologies, tools, and overall QA strategies.

Skills and Experience

• Strong grasp of software testing principles and standard techniques.
• Some practical software testing experience through work, internships, education, or personal projects.
• Knowledge in functional, regression, exploratory, and integration testing.
• Experience testing web applications or RESTful APIs.
• Capability to write clear test cases and defect documentation.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Proficient in written and verbal English communication.
• A proactive, cooperative work style.
• Ability to manage tasks independently while collaborating as part of a team.
• An eagerness to learn automation testing and expand technical QA skills.
• Legal eligibility to work and reside in Ireland.

Desirable Qualifications and Experience:

• Familiarity with Python programming and Robot Framework.

• Comfort with Linux operating environments.
• Experience handling relational databases and SQL.
• Knowledge of continuous integration platforms like Jenkins.
• Understanding of sectors related to betting, gambling, trading, or online gaming.
