Purchase Manager - Castings

Job Overview

We are looking for a Purchase Manager specializing in castings to join our team at Larsen & Toubro in Chorasi, Gujarat. This role involves overseeing the entire purchasing cycle for castings, ensuring timely procurement, and managing vendor relationships in a manufacturing and heavy engineering environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee the ordering process based on vendor capabilities, capacities, and strategic considerations.
• Lead and motivate a team of buyers ensuring coordination and effective communication.
• Handle procurement activities specifically related to castings.
• Distribute Requests for Quotation (RFQs) along with all technical documentation from design, quality, or users to suppliers.
• Collect supplier offers, prepare comparative statements, and negotiate pricing and terms.
• Process purchase orders after necessary approvals aligned with authority matrix.
• Coordinate follow-ups with suppliers and facilitate material receipt at factory post quality and end-user clearance.
• Liaise with new suppliers and quality assurance teams for development and supply coordination.
• Possess sound knowledge of import procedures, Letters of Credit, licensing, and related documentation.
• Achieve cost reduction targets through strategic planning, resource management, value engineering, and negotiation techniques.
• Utilize SAP modules extensively, especially Materials Management (MM) and Finance modules.
• Track all purchase requisitions (PR) and resolve invoice-related queries to ensure timely payment processing.
• Maintain technical proficiency in systems and compliance with ISO and Integrated Management Systems (IMS) standards.
