Project Engineer (Airport)

Job Overview

This role involves comprehensive monitoring and reporting on project progress, ensuring quality assurance, coordinating with multiple contractors, and liaising with authorities to facilitate smooth construction activities at airport sites.

Key Responsibilities

• Track and communicate work progress to Officers-in-Charge, Project Directors, clients, and contractors.
• Participate actively in site inspections, progress reviews, variation checks, and coordination meetings.
• Attend quality assurance and quality control (QAQC) meetings, conduct audits, and maintain high standards of workmanship across all tasks.
• Support verification of contractor submissions regarding civil, structural, geotechnical, architectural, and mechanical & electrical (M&E) work claims and reports.
• Assist in managing supervisory teams in addressing queries from main contractors and coordinate activities among various on-site contractors.
• Engage with relevant authorities and stakeholders to secure necessary approvals prior to commencement of work.
• Provide feedback to supervisors and contractors about on-site challenges, discrepancies, and irregularities.
• Help prepare presentation materials and document minutes for meetings, ensuring accuracy.

Candidate Profile

• A minimum of three years’ experience working on large-span steel frameworks, trusses, bored piling, reinforced concrete works, and civil/structural or geotechnical projects.
• A degree in Civil and Structural Engineering is required.
• Capability to work independently and efficiently manage assignments within fast-moving projects.
• Strong interpersonal communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Proficient in MS Office suite, especially PowerPoint for presentation creation.
• Ability to anticipate upcoming site activities and develop effective mitigation strategies.
