Position Overview
This key role involves leading program controls and master scheduling to bring order, governance, and oversight to large-scale technology transformation programs based in North Ryde, Sydney.
Collaborating closely with Project Managers, Solution Architects, Engineers, and executive stakeholders, the successful candidate will maintain the integrated master schedule, ensure alignment across concurrent projects, manage dependencies, track milestone achievements, and anticipate delivery risks early.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain integrated master schedules spanning multiple technology projects, consolidating individual plans into a single program roadmap.
- Manage project timelines, critical paths, milestones, and interdependencies effectively.
- Identify scheduling conflicts, delivery risks, and resource limitations proactively to mitigate impact.
- Work closely with project managers and delivery teams to keep projects on target.
- Create executive-level reports, dashboards, and delivery status updates to support governance.
- Coordinate vendor schedules to ensure third-party deliverables meet program objectives.
- Track project baselines, monitor progress relative to plan, and manage approved schedule adjustments.
- Assist with cutover, migration, and transition planning during major technology rollouts.
- Maintain planning standards and encourage uniform project management practices throughout the organization.
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate is a highly organized project professional with strong abilities in bringing clarity and structure to complex delivery scenarios. They should possess exceptional project management expertise and stakeholder engagement skills, capable of juggling multiple workstreams with a keen eye for detail.
Required Skills & Experience
- Demonstrated experience in Program Controls, PMO functions, Project Planning, or Master Scheduling roles.
- Proven track record supporting complex IT infrastructure, cloud, cybersecurity, or digital transformation initiatives.
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Project, Project Online, or comparable scheduling tools.
- Solid grasp of project governance, delivery frameworks, and PMO methodologies.
- Experience managing integrated schedules for concurrent projects.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
- Capability to interpret complex technical project information and create meaningful executive reporting.
- Strong skills managing project dependencies, RAID logs, milestones, and delivery tracking.
- Detail-oriented with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Desirable Qualifications
- Experience at a Managed Service Provider (MSP), Systems Integrator, or Technology Consultancy.
- Familiarity with cloud, infrastructure, cybersecurity, or digital transformation programs.
- Knowledge of Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid project delivery methods.
- Relevant certifications such as PMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent.
