Production Supervisor

About the Role

We are looking for a proactive Production Supervisor to lead daily manufacturing activities at our Bengaluru facility. The successful candidate will manage shop floor operations for 2-3 product lines, oversee about 20 operators, and ensure timely, high-quality production output. This is a contract position with the potential for permanent hire and requires on-site presence.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee and guide production staff by assigning tasks, tracking performance, and delivering training sessions.
• Ensure that production schedules and deadlines are consistently met.
• Monitor manufacturing workflows to identify and implement improvements.
• Diagnose and resolve operational production challenges promptly.
• Maintain strict compliance with quality assurance standards and control procedures.
• Promote a safe, clean, and well-organized working environment adhering to 5S principles.
• Track and report key production metrics including output levels, efficiency, and downtime.
• Communicate and collaborate with related departments such as engineering, maintenance, stores, and quality control teams.
• Apply and enforce company-wide policies and procedures within the production area.
• Conduct performance evaluations for production staff and provide constructive feedback.

Candidate Requirements

• Possess a Bachelor’s or Diploma degree in engineering or a comparable technical qualification; vocational training is advantageous.
• Experience in manufacturing or production settings with prior supervisory responsibilities.
• Demonstrated leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Willingness to work varied shifts including General, 1st, 2nd, or 3rd shifts.
• Understanding of manufacturing processes and associated machinery.
• Competent problem-solving skills related to production challenges.
• Knowledge of quality control methodologies and standards.
• Ability to perform efficiently under pressure and meet strict deadlines.
• Familiarity with safety regulations pertinent to manufacturing environments.
• Ability to commute and work on-site at the Bengaluru location.
• Strong communication skills for effective interaction with operators.
• Physical capability to lift loads up to 23 kilograms.
• Commitment to maintaining a safe and sanitary work area.
