About the Role
Our client, based in Dublin, is seeking an experienced Product Owner to join their team on a contract basis. This position entails a 6-month contract initially, with potential for extension due to a substantial technology and transformation initiative underway. The role will operate on a hybrid schedule, requiring 2 to 3 days per week onsite presence.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and manage data delivery roadmaps that align with the organization's business objectives while collaborating closely with stakeholders.
- Engage cross-functionally with teams in product, engineering, and strategy to ensure alignment and progress.
- Present product plans, progress updates, and outcomes to stakeholders leveraging data-driven insights.
- Deliver comprehensive customer journey experiences, including quoting, sales, service, and renewals.
- Manage Scrum activities such as backlog refinement, user story creation, and sprint planning efficiently.
- Contribute to large-scale business transformation initiatives within the organization.
- Prioritize initiatives based on value and business outcomes, tracking and communicating release progress.
- Lead sprint reviews, motivate teams, manage budgets, and embed agile product ownership practices within the company.
Required Qualifications & Experience
- At least 5 years of experience as a Product Owner at a senior level.
- Between 2 to 4 years' focused Product Owner experience in the insurance sector, preferably general or life insurance.
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline.
- Professional Product Owner certification or willingness to attain one.
- Strong leadership abilities paired with excellent communication skills, particularly within Agile and Scrum frameworks.
- Proven capability in outcome-oriented product ownership, including proficient user story writing.
- An effective collaborator with Scrum Masters and delivery teams.
- Skilled in data-driven decision-making and capable of managing ambiguity and adapting to change.
