Key Role and Responsibilities
The Product Manager will oversee reorder processes, determining order quantities for each SKU by analyzing sales performance, stock coverage, past lost sales due to stock unavailability, and anticipating future events including seasonal demand fluctuations. Managing current and upcoming catalog production and distribution schedules is also essential.
The role involves deciding the lifecycle of SKUs through evaluation of performance trends, demand-supply dynamics, and supplier status. Cost and minimum order quantities (MOQ) must be maintained and tracked via spreadsheets and systems for every SKU and supplier, with negotiation duties for cost and MOQ adjustments.
Ensuring accurate procurement documentation is crucial: purchase requisitions (PR), purchase orders (PO), and proforma invoices (PI) need to be aligned regarding quantities, costs, payment terms, shipment dates, and more. Timely forwarding of PR and PO to suppliers and receiving signed PO copies is mandatory.
Additionally, the candidate will develop and execute stock liquidation strategies for outdated inventory, set cutoff dates for terminal stock, obtain board approval for clearance sales to wholesalers, and manage provisions for obsolete stock.
