Job description
Company Overview
Partly is an innovative company building the AI infrastructure that revolutionizes the global repair industry, particularly the automotive market valued at $2 trillion. Headquartered in Austin, TX, with offices in London, Christchurch, and Auckland, Partly's proprietary AI model, Interpreter, decodes vehicle damage and parts needs, enabling thousands of businesses to optimize the supply chain.
Role Overview
This is a hands-on product development position where you take full ownership of product features from conception to delivery and iteration. You will directly engage with customers to understand their workflows and challenges, then swiftly prototype and build impactful solutions using AI-assisted tools. Your work will transform a traditionally manual and fragmented multi-trillion-dollar market into a digitized, user-friendly experience powered by AI-driven automation and supervised delegation.
Key Responsibilities
- Rapidly prototype new product ideas with advanced AI tools and validate them through direct customer feedback before finalizing.
- Maintain close relationships with customers, representing their needs by spending time in their work environments weekly.
- Use a combination of qualitative insights and quantitative data to decide what to build next and prioritize features.
- Take full accountability for your product's success, monitoring usage metrics, resolving issues, and making informed trade-offs.
- Drive user experience from manual operation towards smart, trust-building AI supervision and delegation.
- Ensure product interfaces are intuitive, responsive, and polished, advocating for quality and usability.
- Collaborate with software engineers on backend systems and contribute to shared components and overall product excellence.
Required Skills & Experience
- Minimum 3 years experience delivering end-to-end software features, including coding and deployment.
- Proven habit of immersing deeply with users in their real work context to inform product decisions.
- Strong product design sensibility aimed at creating seamless user experiences for complex workflows and non-technical users.
- Insightful understanding of agentic product design that blends human intent capture with automated task delegation.
- Proficiency in full-stack development with emphasis on frontend quality and solid engineering fundamentals.
- Ability to make balanced decisions between product impact and engineering effort to optimize delivery speed and outcomes.
- Analytical mindset, capable of defining metrics, monitoring product usage, and iterating independently.
- Comfortable working autonomously and shaping ambiguous problems without detailed initial specifications.
Preferred but not Essential
- Experience shipping AI-assisted or agent-driven features that retain human oversight.
- Background building multi-user, operational B2B platforms.
- Entrepreneurial experience such as founding or early-stage startup roles.
- Domain knowledge in automotive, parts aftermarket, repair, or insurance claims sectors.
- Experience with marketplace or network businesses on either demand or supply sides.
- Familiarity or eagerness to learn Rust programming language (used in company tech stack).
Culture & Work Approach
Partly prizes speed, ownership, judgment, and above all, genuine empathy for customers that drives software that works flawlessly in real-world scenarios rather than demos. Candidates are encouraged to continuously learn, adapt, and improve products through rapid prototyping and data-driven iteration.
Benefits
- Daily catered healthy lunches and access to snacks and drinks in all offices.
- An annual $1,500 wellness allowance for fitness, medical, or wellness expenses.
- Three months fully paid parental leave for primary caregivers plus flexible phased returns.
- Modern, collaborative office spaces designed to inspire creativity with nearby cafes.
- Commuter benefits including paid parking or commuting allowance for office presence at least four days weekly.
- Office-centric culture balanced with flexible arrangements to accommodate personal needs.
- Immediate access to annual and sick leave with trusted self-management of time off.
- Regular social events including happy hours, monthly lunches, quarterly meetups, and an annual global offsite.
- Charitable giving matched at 33% for donations to approved charities.
- Equity ownership with share options vested over four years and attractive terms.
Relocation Support
If relocating to Auckland or any Partly HQ, a notable relocation allowance is provided to ease your transition.
