Role Overview
We seek a dedicated, hands-on Product Designer driven by customer needs to clarify complex payment, rewards, data, and operational workflows into intuitive, trustworthy, and valuable product experiences. This role involves involvement from initial discovery through to delivery, collaborating closely with Product and Engineering teams to produce high-quality outputs.
The Product Designer will contribute to multiple product areas including merchant onboarding and dashboards, payment settlements, rewards and loyalty programs, consumer journey mapping, AI-enhanced analytics, reporting, integration workflows, and internal operation tools. Cross-functional cooperation will span Product, Engineering, Data, Growth, Marketing, Sales, Customer Success, Support, Risk, and Operations teams to address challenges, test ideas, and deliver user-friendly, reliable solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead entire product design cycles, from identifying problems and discovery through user flows, prototyping, high-fidelity UI creation, handoff, launch, and ongoing iteration.
- Develop an in-depth understanding of merchant, consumer, partner, and internal stakeholder needs, transforming these into quantifiable product and business outcomes.
- Collaborate with Product teams to conduct interviews, usability tests, journey mapping, prototype validation, and lightweight experiments, integrating qualitative insights with behavioral data and operational feedback.
- Design clear information architecture, effective workflows, wireframes, prototypes, responsive interfaces, and detailed interaction states for both mobile and web platforms.
- Simplify complex workflows involving payments, rewards, onboarding, reporting, configuration, reconciliation, and operations, ensuring transparency without obscuring necessary details or risks.
- Enhance design systems with reusable patterns and components, focusing on accessibility, clarity in content, responsive design, and polished edge and error states.
- Innovate AI-assisted user experiences that facilitate friction reduction, insight delivery, or enhanced relevance for customers and internal stakeholders.
- Work closely with product managers and engineers throughout the delivery process, adjusting for technical limitations, reviewing implementation quality, and enabling informed trade-off decisions.
- Define expected design behavior and success criteria, monitor outcomes post-launch, and make data-driven improvements over time.
- Create designs mindful of privacy, consent, financial transaction flows, payment statuses, reward qualifications, settlement processes, dispute management, support channels, and relevant fintech regulations.
Qualifications
- 3 to 5 years of experience in product design, UX/UI, interaction design, service design, or related digital product development roles.
- A comprehensive portfolio demonstrating end-to-end product work, showcasing design rationale, interaction and visual craftsmanship, teamwork, and learning from product outcomes within realistic constraints.
- Proven experience designing customer-facing mobile or web products, confidently handling complex workflows, platforms, dashboards, admin tools, or internal operational solutions.
- Strong skills in problem framing, user flow creation, information architecture, wireframing, prototyping, high-fidelity UI design, usability testing, and developer collaboration.
- Keen interaction and visual design sensibility with attention to hierarchy, accessibility, content clarity, varying states, exceptional cases, and meticulous execution.
- Experience collaborating closely with product managers and engineers from initial discovery through to product delivery in a dynamic environment.
- A pragmatic approach to research, translating customer conversations, behavioral data, and operational insights into clear design decisions.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to clearly articulate design choices and trade-offs considering customer impact, business value, technical feasibility, privacy, risk, and brand integrity.
- Comfortable working across different product domains and fidelity levels, ranging from early concepts to detailed production-quality designs.
Preferred Experience
- Background in fintech, payments, banking, loyalty programs, rewards, e-commerce, marketplaces, SaaS, data-driven products, or regulated technology sectors.
- Experience designing interfaces related to payment flows, onboarding, checkout, payouts, settlements, reporting, reconciliation, configuration, or self-service support workflows.
- Familiarity with AI-enhanced interfaces, recommendation engines, personalization, insights tools, or human-in-the-loop systems.
- Contribution to design systems, component libraries, content standards, accessibility best practices, or design quality assurance processes.
- Knowledge of experimentation, behavioral analytics, funnel analysis, and evaluating the impact of product design changes.
- Experience working in startup or high-growth environments where priorities evolve and designers influence both problem definition and solution development.
