Key Duties

• Maintain cleanliness, organization, and clear zoning of the produce department to ensure it is inviting and accessible for customers at all times.
• Regularly rotate stock, removing any expired items to guarantee freshness and quality of produce.
• Ensure all products have accurate pricing and appropriate signage in compliance with ordering, clearance, markup and markdown policies.
• Adhere strictly to food safety standards including sanitation, cold chain management, temperature monitoring, and proper handling while complying with sell-by and expiration dates.
• Stock and downstock products as necessary, implement appropriate product protection measures, and arrange modular displays to keep shelves fully stocked.
• Follow all health and safety protocols to maintain a secure and tidy working environment.
• Demonstrate flexibility by being available for varied shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, to meet business needs and ensure consistent customer service.

Challenges of the Role

• Successfully manage a high volume of tasks in a fast-paced atmosphere while maintaining focus and energy, particularly during overnight shifts.
• Handle physical requirements such as prolonged standing, bending, and lifting items up to 20 lbs, occasionally up to 50 lbs., while performing repetitive stocking and organizing responsibilities with great attention to detail.

Compensation

The starting hourly wage for this position is $18.70.
