Procurement Specialist

Overview

We are seeking a skilled and professional Local Procurement Specialist to join our Supply Chain and Procurement team within the Perfumes and Retail industry. The successful candidate will manage and oversee local procurement activities concerning raw materials, packaging, and finished goods, ensuring cost-effectiveness, quality standards, and timely deliveries.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Manage the full local procurement process from purchase requests to purchase orders, goods receipt, and invoice reconciliation.
• Identify, evaluate, and onboard new local suppliers while nurturing strong relationships with current vendors to negotiate prices, payment terms, and delivery timelines.
• Handle sector-specific procurement tasks: securing aromatic raw materials, fragrance bottles, caps, and packaging for Perfumes; ensuring adequate inventory of merchandise and consumer products for Retail branches to prevent stock shortages.
• Conduct ongoing market research to analyze prices and recommend cost-saving measures without sacrificing quality.
• Collaborate with warehouse and inventory teams to maintain appropriate stock levels and avoid overstocking or shortages.
• Monitor supplier shipments and promptly resolve any issues related to delays, product mismatches, or quality concerns.
• Maintain detailed procurement records and produce regular reports on vendor performance, expenditure patterns, and order statuses for senior management.

Required Qualifications and Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, or related disciplines.
• 2 to 3 years of procurement experience, preferably within perfumes, cosmetics, or retail sectors.
• Strong knowledge of local supply chains including vendors, manufacturers, and packaging suppliers.
• Expertise in negotiation and supplier relationship management.
• Proficient in ERP software such as SAP, Oracle, or relevant retail platforms.
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Effective time management, problem-solving capability, and high attention to detail coupled with strong numerical accuracy.
• Fluent in both written and spoken Arabic and English languages.
