Overview

The Procurement Director plays a critical role in spearheading the strategic sourcing, supplier management, procurement transformation, and commercial optimization initiatives for a global entertainment brand expanding internationally. This role requires building a scalable procurement function that focuses on cost optimization, supplier innovation, risk mitigation, governance, and operational excellence across all markets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and lead global category strategies covering all major spending areas.
  • Establish a structured category management framework, including detailed spend analysis, supplier segmentation, risk assessment, and sourcing pipelines.
  • Create and maintain a multi-year procurement roadmap aligned with global expansion plans.
  • Drive initiatives like supplier consolidation, demand management, cost reduction, and improved service levels.
  • Leverage market trends and industry insights to enhance supplier value and competitive advantage, ensuring alignment with licensing, partner commitments, and brand standards.
  • Implement best-in-class procurement processes, governance, policies, and procurement technologies to increase transparency, compliance, and efficiency.
  • Lead complex strategic sourcing projects, commercial negotiations, and contract management to achieve cost savings, risk management, and value creation.
  • Manage strategic supplier relationships through performance scorecards, business reviews, and collaboration focused on continuous improvement and innovation.
  • Support new venue development by partnering with construction and development teams for sourcing of materials, equipment, and services to meet budgets and timelines.
  • Collaborate with executive leadership and cross-functional teams (Finance, Legal, Operations, Marketing, Technology, Development, People) to integrate procurement strategies that drive business growth and meet stakeholder expectations.

Required Qualifications and Skills

  • Over 10 years of procurement leadership and strategic sourcing experience in complex, international, multi-site organizations.
  • Proven expertise in developing and executing category strategies across diverse spend categories.
  • Track record of delivering significant cost savings, procurement transformation, and supplier performance improvements.
  • Strong skills in commercial negotiation, contract management, and supplier governance frameworks.
  • Experience supporting high-growth businesses in hospitality, entertainment, retail, or consumer sectors.
  • Exceptional stakeholder management and ability to influence senior executives and boards.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Finance, or related disciplines.
  • Professional procurement certifications such as MCIPS, CIPS, CPSM, or ISM.
  • Experience with international expansion, hospitality, entertainment brands, or rapid scaling private companies.

Work Environment and Requirements

  • Position requires the ability to travel internationally up to 70% of the time.
  • Minimum 40 hours per week with flexibility to support global operations in multiple time zones.
  • Must reside within 25 miles of a venue location despite remote work arrangement.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to frequently lift up to 10 pounds and occasionally up to 50 pounds.
  • Perform tasks that involve sitting, talking via video conferencing and phone, and constant manual manipulation of objects.
  • Frequent reaching, twisting, grasping, and ability to work in varied temperature environments.
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and follow rigorous sanitation protocols including use of knives and food prep equipment when on venue premises.
