Position Overview
This role focuses on initiating the early engagement with students expressing interest in studying abroad. The key objective is to guide these students through their initial curiosity by providing clear, accessible conversations about the study abroad journey. It's about transforming interest into readiness for deeper counseling.
Key Responsibilities
- Proactively contact prospective students who have shown interest in international education, ensuring timely and meaningful initial conversations.
- Maintain a consistent follow-up schedule within your lead pool to keep students engaged during their pre-counseling phase and prevent drop-offs.
- Assess student needs by leading structured discussions to understand their academic background, preferred destinations, program interests, timelines, and family situations.
- Determine the appropriate next steps for each student, whether that involves shortlisting specific programs, arranging further consultations, or directing them to events, based on conversation insights.
- Identify and nurture students who are not immediately ready, providing ongoing engagement to keep them connected until they're prepared to proceed.
- Accurately document every student interaction in the CRM system to maintain clear situational awareness for the counseling team.
- Report on recurring student questions, concerns, and trends to improve team engagement strategies.
Success Indicators
- Within weeks: Deep understanding of student profiles, common questions, and study abroad context to offer valuable conversations.
- Within three months: Consistent, confident calls with an active lead pool, reliable follow-ups, and comprehensive CRM inputs enabling seamless counselor transitions.
- Within a year: Insight into student progression patterns, common conversation challenges, and contribution toward process improvements, demonstrating impactful pre-counseling results.
Candidate Profile
- Minimum two years of telecalling or outreach experience in the study abroad sector, with practical exposure to real student and parent conversations.
- Common knowledge of major international education destinations including the UK, Australia, Canada, and the USA to provide helpful initial guidance.
- Strong organizational skills for tracking follow-ups and maintaining accurate CRM data, ensuring no lead is neglected.
- Adaptable and receptive to feedback, committed to continual learning on evolving study abroad landscapes.
- Passion for making early student engagement a positive, natural first step in their overseas education journey.
