Role Overview

The Post Production Assistant is essential in supporting our video editing team by managing media assets, prepping projects, conducting basic edits, and aiding North American Freelance Editors and our regional offices. This role demands organization, initiative, and a collaborative attitude to ensure smooth post-production operations and successful project delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Ingest, backup, and systematically organize raw footage, audio, and graphics on shared drives following established folder and naming standards.
• Maintain project files with all assets, documentation, licensing, and deliverables easily accessible.
• Manage project completion protocols including archiving to free storage and assist with final delivery documentation.
• Prepare video projects for editors by syncing audio, grouping multicam clips, and assembling rough cuts.
• Support editors by sourcing b-roll, stock music, and sound effects, and resolving basic post-production or software issues.
• Handle simple editing duties such as social media trimming, aspect ratio adjustments, versioning, subtitles, and lower thirds.
• Export and deliver final videos adhering to brand, technical, and deadline requirements.
• Provide additional assistance to the creative team to enhance client outcomes.
• Engage in learning from senior colleagues to improve editorial skills and promote a respectful, inclusive team environment.

Candidate Profile

• Strong enthusiasm for video storytelling with exceptional attention to detail.
• Practical experience with Adobe Premiere Pro; knowledge of After Effects is advantageous.
• Solid understanding of post-production workflows, video formats, frame rates, and codecs.
• Excellent organizational ability, dedicated to clean timelines and consistent file naming.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proactive, problem-solving mindset with a desire to develop within a dynamic creative team.
