Porter

Overview

The Porter position involves maintaining cleanliness and safety throughout key areas of the warehouse to ensure a hazard-free environment for both customers and employees. This role includes routine sanitation documentation and compliance with the company's HACCP program on cleaning equipment. Additional duties may be assigned by management, including minor maintenance tasks.

Job Responsibilities

• Sweep interior and exterior building areas regularly.
• Clean and maintain all restroom facilities within the building.
• Perform cleaning tasks on windows, doors, and the coffee area as necessary.
• Manage trash containers and ensure they are maintained properly.
• Operate equipment such as the trash compactor, cardboard baler, and floor scrubbing machine when required.
• Promptly address spill cleanup throughout the warehouse.
• Maintain cleanliness of employee break rooms according to a set schedule.
• Support department managers with aisle cleaning duties when needed.
• Verify HACCP guidelines and sanitation logs daily as per procedures.
• Assist management with various other assigned tasks as necessary.

Qualifications

• Effective communication abilities.
• Familiarity with basic sanitation principles.
• Some knowledge or willingness to learn to operate floor cleaning machines, balers, and compactors.
• Physical strength to lift up to 50 pounds safely.
