About the Role
Join Mears Group PLC, the UK's leading provider of repairs, maintenance, and regeneration services, as a Planner based in Cottenham near Cambridge. This full-time, permanent position involves managing efficient scheduling of repair jobs while ensuring high-quality service delivery and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Organise and allocate operatives and subcontractors effectively to meet repair deadlines.
- Maintain daily updates on repair appointments, follow-up works, and overdue tasks.
- Support IT systems usage, ensuring operatives properly update their PDAs, and schedule of rates are accurately entered.
- Communicate professionally with residents, workers, and stakeholders to provide updates and coordination.
- Collaborate with administrators, supervisors, and contractors to guarantee smooth workflow.
- Provide coverage for fellow planners when required; participate in meetings and training sessions as needed.
- Adhere strictly to company policies and health and safety guidelines.
- Assist in compiling reports and monitoring performance KPIs.
- Prioritise emergency and urgent repairs to reduce inconvenience for residents.
- Keep precise records and ensure compliance with audits and documentation standards.
- Contribute to continuous improvement efforts by suggesting enhancements to planning and scheduling processes.
- Offer general administrative support within the repairs team when necessary.
Candidate Requirements
- Prior experience in a similar planning role involving multi-trade repairs scheduling.
- GCSE or equivalent qualifications in English and Maths.
- Proven ability to work efficiently in high-pressure, fast-moving environments.
- Strong IT skills, including experience with job management and scheduling software.
- Excellent organisational, time management, and communication abilities.
- Customer-oriented mindset with the capability to manage difficult situations gracefully.
- Familiarity with repairs and maintenance operations.
- Experience using ICT appointing tools to handle repair bookings and resource allocation.
