Position Overview

The role involves applying paint, stains, and other finish coatings to walls, ceilings, and furniture surfaces utilizing brushes, spray guns, or rollers. Preparation of surfaces is essential and includes applying primers or sealers and removing previous finishes through methods like stripping, sanding, wire brushing, burning, or abrasive blasting. It also requires protecting surrounding areas during painting and placing warning signs as needed. Proper cleaning and storage of painting tools and coordination with vendors to adjust paint colors is expected.

Responsibilities

• Apply coatings such as paint and stains to various property surfaces using appropriate tools and techniques.
• Prepare new and existing surfaces by cleaning, stripping, sanding, or other methods to ensure proper finish adhesion.
• Protect adjacent surfaces and post signs to maintain safety during the painting process.
• Maintain cleanliness of tools and workspaces by proper storage of materials and equipment.
• Collaborate with external suppliers to tailor paint, stain, or varnish colors as required.
• Adhere strictly to company safety policies, report hazards or incidents, and complete all mandated safety training and certifications.
• Demonstrate professional appearance and maintain confidentiality concerning company information.
• Provide courteous guest interactions according to company service standards, assist guests including individuals with disabilities, and communicate clearly and professionally.
• Work effectively as part of a team to achieve shared goals.
• Perform physical tasks including reaching overhead, bending, stooping, climbing ladders, and handling objects up to 50 pounds without assistance.
• Undertake additional duties as assigned by supervisors.

Qualifications

• Technical, trade, or vocational school diploma or equivalent training.
• Minimum of one year of relevant work experience in painting or related activities.
• No prior supervisory responsibilities required.
• No specific licenses or certifications necessary.
