Position Overview
Ressam is seeking an experienced .NET Developer to support ICT initiatives at the Australian Electoral Commission (AEC). This temporary role, based in the Australian Capital Territory with hybrid working arrangements, requires candidates to hold an active NV1 Security clearance and be Australian citizens. The initial contract extends until 30 June 2027 with an option for a 12-month extension.
About the Role
The .NET Developer will be instrumental in modernizing and enhancing C# based, n-tier enterprise software in accordance with AEC standards. Responsibilities include supporting the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC), developing automated build and deployment scripts utilizing .NET technologies, and applying Agile methodologies with tools like Azure DevOps. Close collaboration with technical and business teams is essential to manage issues in production environments, contribute to policy formulation, and coordinate project management activities.
Key Duties
- Engage in all phases of the SDLC to enhance enterprise software systems.
- Develop and maintain automated application build and deployment scripts within the Microsoft technology stack.
- Utilize Agile development processes and Azure DevOps for project delivery.
- Resolve complex production issues by working directly with technical and business stakeholders.
- Provide specialist advice and maintain effective internal and external stakeholder relationships.
- Make informed decisions based on legislative and regulatory frameworks, best practices, and operational guidelines.
- Contribute to election-related preparations and deliverables under an established framework.
- Handle additional duties as assigned by leadership.
About the Team
The Chief Information Officer Division (CIOD) leads robust ICT functions, ensuring election-ready systems and driving ICT transformation programs such as the Election Systems Modernisation and Funding and Disclosure Reform programs. Platforms and Application Development Branch (PaAD) manages application support, modernization, and integration, working to maintain scalable, secure, and resilient digital platforms aligned with evolving election and legislative requirements.
Work Environment and Location
The role will primarily be conducted from the National Office in Canberra with flexible hybrid arrangements involving on-site and remote work, subject to managerial approval.
