NDT Technician

Job Overview

The NDT Technician is responsible for independently identifying and resolving problems within the Non-Destructive Testing discipline by utilizing established procedures and scientific best practices to ensure quality and safety compliance.

Key Responsibilities

• Inspect welds and materials using techniques such as Radiography (RT), Ultrasonic Testing (UT), Magnetic Particle Testing (MT), and Dye Penetrant Testing (PT) following applicable codes and contractual requirements.
• Accurately determine whether detected flaws conform to standards or represent defects requiring further action.
• Perform NDT examinations according to written project plans, approved procedures, and international standards.
• Execute inspections strictly in line with authorized NDT processes and widely recognized codes and specifications.
• Assess and decide acceptance or rejection of materials based on predefined quality criteria and collaborate closely with quality control inspectors to confirm the completion of corrective work.
• Document conforming results for repairs and coordinate with QC inspectors to ensure rectifications meet required standards before re-inspection using the original NDT methods.

Qualifications and Experience

• Minimum 2 years education equivalent to an Engineering Degree or High School Diploma.
• At least 3 years practical experience in Radiography or Ultrasonic Testing.
• Obtained professional certification from recognized bodies such as ASNT or CSWIP.
• Occupational qualification per internationally accepted schemes (e.g., PCN, CSWIP, ASNT) demonstrating competency.
• Skilled in accurately interpreting examination outcomes, categorizing welds appropriately, and generating detailed inspection reports aligned with relevant acceptance codes and standards.
