Job Opportunity

Join NZ Transport Agency (Waka Kotahi) as a National Manager Business Performance, leading the business performance for the national land transport capital programme. Reporting to the Group General Manager Infrastructure Development and Delivery, you will ensure investment choices, delivery focus, and programme achievements are based on clear insights, effective planning, and rigorous assurance.

You will manage a large team responsible for business planning, performance reporting, portfolio analysis, advanced analytics, and internal assurance. The role concentrates on enhancing transparency of delivery outcomes, identifying risks and opportunities, and enabling superior forecasting, prioritisation, and governance across the capital programme.

As a key member of the Infrastructure Development and Delivery Group Leadership Team, you'll influence system-wide advice, help define a coherent infrastructure pipeline, and champion continuous improvements supporting delivery excellence and value for New Zealand.

Candidate Profile

• Extensive senior leadership experience in large, complex organisations or senior consulting roles with proven capability to translate strategy into actionable priorities, plans, and results.
• Strong strategic thinking, analytical skills, and experience using performance monitoring and reporting to enhance accountability and drive improvements.
• Proficiency in navigating complex governance and policy frameworks aligning delivery with government goals and outcomes.
• Demonstrated success leading change initiatives and continuous improvement efforts that elevate performance and build organisational capacity.
• Exceptional ability to lead, influence, and build trust with diverse stakeholders and maintain strong collaborative relationships.

You will be willing to engage with Te Ao Māori concepts, support NZTA's Te Tiriti o Waitangi commitments, and foster an inclusive workplace valuing diverse perspectives to strengthen decision-making.
