Compensation and Benefits
The base salary ranges according to tenure and performance are as follows:
- Starting base pay ranges from $19.23 to $38.46 per hour (approximately $40,000 to $80,000 annually).
- Tenured base pay ranges from $19.23 to $48.07 per hour ($40,000 to $100,000 annually) with structured and performance-based increases.
Commission structure includes:
- 50% to 150% of one month's Monthly Recurring Charges (MRCs).
- One-twelfth of Non-Recurring Charges (NRCs).
- One-twenty-fourth of Burst charges.
Additional benefits include medical, dental, vision insurance, paid time off (20 days annually), disability coverage, life insurance, holidays, three weeks family leave, 401(k) with employer match, stock options, and employee assistance programs.
Role Responsibilities
- Source and identify new business opportunities within a designated Regional Sales Territory, concentrating on mid-market and non-named national accounts with 500 to 999 employees.
- Utilize direct outreach methods such as phone calls and emails to engage with key decision-makers, qualifying and generating sales leads.
- Enhance prospecting efforts by conducting field activities like building walkthroughs, lobby events, establishing property management relationships, and face-to-face client meetings.
- Apply consultative and relationship-based selling techniques to uncover current and future connectivity needs.
- Position Cogent’s service offerings effectively to support customer growth and prospect interest.
- Meet monthly revenue targets by selling to major commercial and retail properties, including office buildings, parks, and professional campuses.
Qualifications
- Proven sales experience with successful recent track record in generating new business.
- Demonstrated ability to prospect, qualify, and develop business through extensive research and outreach.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Capable of thriving in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment with clear revenue deadlines.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office and CRM software is advantageous.
- College degree preferred but not mandatory.
Work Environment
This position requires full-time in-office presence, five days a week, designed to provide robust mentorship, training, and coaching support for success.
