Role Purpose
The Senior Engineer in the Global Markets Risk Service team plays a vital role in supporting and advancing risk systems and processes. This position requires close coordination with business stakeholders and technology teams to maintain compliant, scalable solutions that meet operational and regulatory needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Work closely with the Risk Service Lead and team members to deploy and maintain risk solutions across Global Markets.
- Troubleshoot and implement change requests related to risk systems promptly and efficiently.
- Participate in creating and carrying out a multi-year strategy for enhancing risk technology.
- Promote automation and process optimizations to boost team productivity and cut operational expenses.
- Ensure adherence to regulatory standards such as EMIR Initial Margin, SA-CCR, and FRTB.
- Help monitor and improve KPIs to assess performance and discover enhancement areas.
Experience and Knowledge
- A minimum of 7 to 10 years' experience supporting and developing risk systems within Global Markets environments.
- A deep understanding of risk functions including credit exposures, VaR, SIMM, and FRTB.
- Knowledge of regulatory frameworks impacting risk processes, including EMIR and SA-CCR.
- Proven experience implementing risk solutions in large financial institutions.
- Familiarity with Global Markets products and end-to-end front-to-back processes.
Qualifications and Skills
- A postgraduate degree or professional qualification in Information Systems, Engineering, or Business Administration.
- At least 10 years of relevant experience working in banks or IT firms.
- Strong grasp of financial markets, trading, and banking software solutions.
- Excellent organizational capability with influence to drive decisions and impact outcomes.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
- In-depth expertise in Murex systems is essential.
