Role Overview
The Moving and Handling Team at Ailsa Hospital is looking for a motivated and adaptable individual to join on a permanent, 36-hour per week basis. The role involves supporting the delivery of moving and handling services organization-wide. As the role spans the broader NHS Ayrshire & Arran area, a full UK driving license is mandatory.
Key Responsibilities
- Applying a relevant healthcare background, such as nursing or therapy qualifications, with substantial post-registration experience in complex patient handling environments.
- Planning and managing patient care activities that involve moving and handling.
- Delivering and assessing training for staff competence in moving and handling techniques aligned with national standards.
- Exemplifying excellent communication skills to facilitate effective teaching and demonstration of best practices.
Qualifications and Experience Requirements
- Successful completion of an instructor or key worker course in moving and handling patients is essential.
- Progress toward Scottish Manual Handling Passport competency is desirable.
- Candidates not fully meeting competency criteria may be considered under Annex 21 conditions and would receive full support and training to meet these standards within 24 months.
- Proficiency in computer literacy, especially in preparing polished reports and presentations using Microsoft Office tools.
- Holding a full UK driving license as the position requires travel across NHS Ayrshire & Arran areas.
