Their Building Services team manages comprehensive facilities services across the UK, including mechanical and electrical engineering support, cleaning, catering, and grounds maintenance through planned and reactive work, supported by advanced technology.

We are currently seeking a Mobile Handyperson to support our operations under the Kent County Council contract. This position involves handling reactive maintenance tasks, scheduled redecoration, small works, and emergency procedures, including participation in the out-of-hours call rota. The role requires mobility across various locations throughout Kent, necessitating a valid full clean driving license. Reporting will be directly to the Ad hoc Supervisor.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct general carpentry repairs related to building fabric, including but not limited to non-fire related doors, door frames, handles, wall patches, decking, fences, fence posts, blinds, fittings, fixtures, and timber structures.
• Perform painting and decorating duties.
• Install shelves, pictures, noticeboards, and dispensers.
• Replace and fit locks as required.
• Demonstrate a proactive and self-motivated attitude suitable for mobile team work.
• Assist with labor-intensive tasks such as furniture movement.
• Carry out seasonal gritting activities during or outside working hours as weather demands.
• Undertake semi-skilled assignments as directed by management or supervisors.
• Ensure timely completion and submission of maintenance and inspection records using mobile applications and the CAFM system.
• Support planned preventative maintenance and additional work requirements following engineering standards and health and safety regulations.
• Collaborate with professionals from fabric and other disciplines.
• Be available for ad-hoc overtime when needed.

Required Qualifications and Skills

• Prior experience in building fabric maintenance or possession of relevant qualifications aligning with the role's requirements.
• Willingness to continuously improve and learn new skills.
• Strong organizational skills to efficiently manage workloads and meet deadlines.
• Ability to work independently and proactively identify and report health and safety concerns to the SHEQ team.
• Basic IT proficiency and confident use of mobile phones.
• Effective communication skills capable of building trust with colleagues and stakeholders.
