Role Overview

This full-time, on-site position based in Riyadh involves working as a Mechanical Technical Office Engineer in charge of engineering studies and tendering activities for water infrastructure projects. The engineer will be responsible for developing and reviewing mechanical engineering designs, conducting calculations, and preparing technical assessments related to water, stormwater, and wastewater systems. The scope includes networks, treatment facilities, pumping stations, and similar infrastructure.

Key Duties

• Analyze tender documents and technical specifications thoroughly.
• Conduct quantity take-offs and detailed mechanical Bill of Quantity (BOQ) assessments.
• Prepare Requests for Quotations (RFQs) for suppliers and subcontractors.
• Evaluate technical proposals and create comparative technical analyses.
• Collaborate with the estimating team by providing technical input and cost assessments.
• Review mechanical designs, shop drawings, and material submissions for compliance with project requirements.
• Coordinate with project managers and multidisciplinary teams to ensure accuracy and adherence to standards.
• Offer technical support during construction phases, as well as operation and maintenance activities.
• Assist in risk evaluations, quality assurance, and continuous process improvement to boost project efficiency and sustainability.

Candidate Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Between 4 and 8 years of relevant experience in technical office environments, tendering, estimation, or mechanical project execution.
• Exposure to water, wastewater, irrigation, pumping stations, treatment plant projects, or Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing (MEP) works.
• Proficient with AutoCAD and Microsoft Excel.
• Ability to comprehend and interpret technical documents, engineering drawings, and tender specifications in English.
