Role Overview

The Mechanical Project Manager will take charge of planning, leading, and controlling all phases of mechanical project delivery, ensuring compliance with quality, safety, and performance standards throughout the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee all aspects of the mechanical works scope, ensuring timely delivery within project specifications, budgets, and schedules.
• Monitor and analyze critical project milestones to avoid schedule delays.
• Evaluate construction proposals, including cost and scope details.
• Lead and mentor diverse project teams consisting of engineers, package managers, supervisors, and foremen.
• Maintain effective communication with stakeholders, including clients, to align project objectives.
• Coordinate with design teams and subcontractors to meet project scope, cost, and timeline requirements.
• Implement productivity enhancement measures through effective daily and weekly planning.
• Manage daily site operations alongside package managers.
• Supervise subcontractor performance, ensuring alignment with schedules and labor requirements.
• Coordinate contractors sharing workspaces to maintain smooth, safe, and efficient progress.
• Prepare detailed weekly reports covering incidents, schedule updates, future plans, industrial relations, procurement forecasts, and variation logs.
• Conduct weekly commercial meetings to track variations and client costs.
• Promote and enforce safety standards in collaboration with safety advisors and package managers.
• Foster a strong Quality, Health, Safety, and Environmental culture among the team.
• Develop and maintain company procedures in partnership with package managers.
• Manage change control processes affecting costs and schedules.

Requirements

• At least 10 years of experience managing large-scale mechanical projects including commercial offices, retail spaces, hotels, schools, or data centres.
• Experience in data centre projects is highly valued.
• Preferred trade or engineering qualification with recent experience managing major electrical contracts.
• Proven project management skills ensuring scope, budget, and schedule control.
• Strong technical proficiency in mechanical design, build systems, HVAC, piping, and related services.
• Excellent organizational, leadership, and communication skills.
• Ability to drive project progress and promote collaboration within multidisciplinary teams.
