Mechanical Estimation Engineer

Position Overview

Esnad Contracting Company is looking to employ an experienced Mechanical Estimation Engineer based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia to strengthen their team.

Key Duties

• Carefully examine mechanical drawings, technical specifications, and tender documents to ensure thorough understanding.
• Develop detailed quantity take-offs and Bills of Quantities (BOQs) covering mechanical systems such as HVAC, firefighting, plumbing, and infrastructure utilities.
• Create precise cost estimates and conduct pricing analysis for project tenders.
• Solicit and assess quotations from vendors and subcontractors to inform cost planning.
• Draft comprehensive technical and commercial proposals as part of tender and bidding processes.
• Collaborate closely with design, procurement, and execution teams to secure accurate project data and cost projections.
• Identify and evaluate project risks and opportunities to enhance profitability.
• Update and maintain cost databases, pricing archives, and market rate records.
• Track and analyze regional and global market price trends to maintain competitive pricing.

Candidate Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering is mandatory.
• At least eight years of solid experience in mechanical cost estimation and tendering within contracting firms, with preference for infrastructure-related projects.
• Proven skills in quantity take-offs, producing BOQs, cost estimation, and pricing tenders.
• In-depth understanding of both local and international construction industries, supplier networks, and pricing dynamics.
• Ability to interpret mechanical drawings and technical documents effectively.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and estimation-specific software tools.
• Professional certification in Quantity Surveying or Cost Management is advantageous; possession of RICS credentials is preferred.
• Arabic language proficiency is considered a plus.
