Mechanical Design Engineer

Position Overview

HCL Tech is actively seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to join their team in Jigani, Bangalore. This opportunity is designed for professionals with 2.5 to 5 years of experience who hold a Diploma, B.E., or B.Tech degree in Mechanical Engineering. Candidates should be ready to join within a notice period ranging from immediate availability up to 30 days.

Key Responsibilities & Technical Skills

• Design mechanical components utilizing various manufacturing techniques such as stamping, molding, and machining.
• Create detailed 3D models, sheet metal designs, 2D drawings, and assemblies using CAD tools, primarily Creo and SolidWorks.
• Use Windchill PDM and PLM systems to oversee the lifecycle management of components.
• Apply Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) principles accurately in designs.
• Conduct tolerance stack-up analyses to ensure quality and precision.
• Incorporate manufacturability elements specifically for sheet metal and plastic parts.
• Leverage Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (DFMEA) to identify and mitigate product risks.
• Select appropriate materials and incorporate Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) concepts into product development.
• Stay updated with advanced engineering design methodologies, tools, and processes.
• Support New Product Introduction (NPI) and New Product Development (NPD) initiatives, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
