About the Role
Join the dedicated team at Moonah Park Aged Care in Mitchelton, Queensland as a Maintenance Officer in a full-time permanent position working 38 hours per week (76 hours fortnightly). This role focuses on maintaining outdoor environments and facilities to ensure they are safe, functional, and visually appealing. If you enjoy working outdoors, gardening, and applying practical maintenance skills, this position offers a varied and rewarding daily work experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform regular gardening tasks including trimming hedges, pruning, fertilising, mulching, and plant health care to enhance the grounds.
- Maintain outdoor areas by clearing garden waste, controlling weeds, and ensuring paths and common spaces are clean and tidy.
- Carry out general maintenance and minor repairs using your trade skills to support smooth facility operations.
- Adhere to a preventative maintenance schedule to uphold facility standards and safety.
Candidate Profile
- Possess current First Aid and CPR certifications.
- Understand Work Health and Safety requirements or be willing to obtain certification within one month.
- Hold a valid driver's licence.
- Have substantial experience in maintenance, handyman, or groundskeeping roles.
- Experience in aged care or community services is preferred but not mandatory.
- Hold valid Australian work rights; sponsorship is not available.
