Position Overview

Club Wyndham Wanaka is seeking a skilled, hands-on Maintenance Officer to join their team in Wanaka, New Zealand. This role involves maintaining and enhancing the reliability of resort facilities, plant, and equipment by diagnosing and resolving faults and performing routine maintenance. The position is full-time, onsite, and focused on supporting safe, reliable building operations to ensure an exceptional guest experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Identify and repair faults across buildings, plant, and equipment within the resort property.
• Execute preventative maintenance tasks to increase asset reliability and minimize downtime.
• Maintain and troubleshoot mechanical and building systems including pumps, pool equipment, hot water systems, and HVAC.
• Coordinate with external contractors for specialized maintenance and compliance work.
• Use the computerized maintenance management system (MEX) to log inspections, repairs, and maintenance activities accurately.
• Support refurbishment projects and ongoing improvements.
• Ensure all maintenance tasks comply with safety and company standards as well as legal requirements.

Candidate Profile

• Minimum of three years relevant work experience or equivalent qualification under the New Zealand Qualifications and Credentials Framework (NZQCF).
• Proficient in English, both spoken and written.
• Prior experience in facilities or technical maintenance, engineering support, or related fields.
• Strong analytical skills for fault diagnosis and problem resolution.
• Knowledgeable about mechanical systems including pumps, plumbing, pool plant, and HVAC technology.
• Experience in preventive maintenance scheduling and execution.
• Capability to manage contractors and communicate technical information effectively.
• Familiarity with computerized maintenance management systems such as MEX is advantageous.
• Thorough understanding of workplace health and safety regulations.
• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently and collaboratively.
• Possession of a current driver’s license.
